Yoon angrily tells her not to get involved, as she is just a servant. Yoon introduces himself, in which Sung-Baek replies that his name is well known. Yoon realizes that Sung-Baek is the man who saved Chae-Ok before, and tells him that there must be hundreds of innocent lives in his hands. Sung-Baek tells him he fights in the name of the citizens, to which Yoon retorts that he fights in the name of the nation and the King. They draw their swords. They order their men not the get involved. As they fight, both sights become agitated and began attacking each other. Chae-Ok jumps in front of Yoon to save him, and Yoon looks at Chae-Ok with sorrow. Gak-Chul suffered multiple gun and arrow wounds, as the rest of the rebels escape. Chae-Ok goes after Sung-Baek, while the rest of the remainding police go after the rebels. Ma Chook Ji apoligized to Gak Chul and closes his eyes.

Chae-Ok catches up to Sung-Baek. She grabs him and he falls of his horse. He starts to run but Chae-Ok catches up to him. They exchange swords. Sung-Baek tells her to step aside, but Chae-Ok continues to resist. Chae-Ok rolls down the hill and falls into a hole. Sung-Baek extends his hand to save her, but Chae-Ok refuses his help. As Chae-Ok threw away her pride and reached for Sung-Baek's hand, she falls deep into the hole with Sung-Baek.

Soo-Myung and the rebels realize that Sung-Baek is missing, while Yoon and the police realized that Chae-Ok went after Sung-Baek and is now missing.

Inside the deep cave, Chae-Ok sees Sung-Baek wounded and unconscious. She tries to remove the large stone that is on Sung-Baek's leg. Sung-Baek awakes in pain and asks Chae-Ok what's stopping her from killing him. Chae-Ok just looks at his bleeding leg.

At the palace, the King asks Commander Jo on what course of action he should take against the rebels. Commander Jo advices on waiting, while Judge Jung shows discontent. Commander Jo suspects something is not right with the Judge. Commander Jo then speaks with Byung-Taek to show him pictures of men performing a type of martial arts. Byung-Taek informs the Commander they are Japanese foreigners performing Judo.

Back at the cave, Chae-Ok tends to Sung-Baek's wound. He pushes her away telling that she doesn't need to waste her energy on him. She slaps Sung-Baek and says she doesn't do this because she likes it. She continues to work on his wound, then makes a torch. She then starts to get up to find an exit. She stops after a few steps and asks Sung-Baek why did he save her. Sung-Baek asks her what she would have done. He didn't thought about his actions and he just did it. Chae-Ok leaves to look for an exit but to no avail.

Outside, the others are getting worried and wonders why Chae-Ok hasn't returned. Baek Jo Wan states that she must be with Sung-Baek. The rebels are also searching for Sung-Baek. Won Hae asks Yoon to bear the responsibility for the consequences. Yoon tells him to asks the soldiers to prepare arrows with fire to light up the forest.

Inside the cave, Sung-Baek asks if Chae-Ok has found a way out. She stares at the cave ceiling and sees a small hole. Sung-Baek tells her even if he's not wounded, it's impossible for him to reach that height, but gives Chae-Ok a firework to use as a sign. Chae-Ok gets ready to fire the signal, when Sung-Baek asks her who does she think will respond first. If it's Hwang Bo Yoon then he dies, if it's his comrades the she dies. Chae-Ok lights the firework and successfully targets the hole.

The rebels sees the signal and thinks it's Sung-Baek. Yoon sees the signal and realizes it's Chae-Ok. The soldiers shoot their arrows with fireballs and Yoon tells them to stop so he wouldn't lose the direction of the signal earlier. Won-Hae tells Yoon that Chae-Ok doesn't have any fireworks with her. He talks to Yoon in private to cast doubt in Yoon about Chae-Ok feelings with Sung-Baek. Yoon defends Chae-Ok and orders him to find her immediately. More fireball arrows go off, making Yoon more upset.

Damo Episode 10 Synopsis | Damo Episode 10 Summary | Damo Episode 10 Recap

Yoon remembers the old master's instructions to really kill Chae-Ok. To not think about saving her, but think about really killing her. Yoon gave his best shot, and was blown away by the strength of the force. Yoon and the Master went back inside the room and saw Chae-Ok coming back alive. A smiling Yoon brings medicine to Chae-Ok, when Chae-Ok (with eyes still closed), says "let us go down the mountain, Jang Sung-Baek". Yoon is very upset and goes outside.

At the police station, Commander Jo and Won-Hae suspected that one of the police is a spy. They managed to capture the spy, but the spy commited suicide. Yoon goes back at the police station, and kneels before Commander Jo. Commander Jo asked him to leave, but Yoon continues to kneel in front of Commander Jo's room. The next day, Lady Nan-Hee begged her father to sympathize with Yoon and Chae-Ok. Commander Jo asked her how could she say that, knowing that Yoon loves Chae-Ok. Lady Nan-Hee tells his father that she loves Yoon. Commander Jo asks her to leave. Lady Nan-Hee tells Yoon to stop kneeling. When he refused, she kneels with him. Commander Jo finally called Yoon to have a private talk. Commander Jo reminds Yoon about the hundreds of lives lost(implying that Chae-Ok is to blame). Yoon asks for his death. Commander Jo tells him it's not that easy, and he must choose if he wants to be with Chae-Ok, or stay here and do his duty. Yoon wants to do his duty to the country. Commander Jo offers to forgive Chae-Ok if Yoon will marry Lady Nan-Hee.

Back at the temple, the old master tells Chae-Ok that she will not be able to have children. Chae-Ok tells that maybe it's better this way, but begins to weep. The old master tells Chae-Ok of another temple, where the tablets of her parents are residing. Chae-Ok visits that temple, and weeps in front of her parents plaques. Sung-Baek and Soo-Mung arrive at the temple, and passes by the room where a woman (Chae-Ok) weeps. Sung-Baek watches her for a while, then continues to pay his respects to the monk. The young monk tells Sung-Baek that he wanted to contact him because the woman Sung-Baek has been looking for is here now. Sung-Baek realizes that his sister was the woman weeping earlier and runs toward the place where he saw her earlier, but finds it empty. He runs after her, while calling out 'Jae-Hee'. Chae-Ok hears the noise, but after stopping for a while, resumes walking. Sung-Baek weeps.

Chae-Ok returns, to the shock of Won-Hae and Baek Jo-Wan. Lady Nan-Hee asks Yoon to marry her. She further tells that she is aware of his love for Chae-Ok. Yoon tells her that being a bastard, he doesn't match with her. Lady Nan-Hee tells him to her, he is the man she loves. Chae-Ok overhears everything. Yoon and Lady Nan-Hee sees her. Chae-Ok smiles, and then leaves. Byung-taek sees Chae-Ok and hands her a wedding headpiece, and asks her to marry him. Chae-Ok is about to decline when Byung-Taek when he interrupts her and begins to tell about getting married and raising children. Upon hearing those words, Chae-Ok sobs and leaves. Byung-taek yells he will make her laugh for a lifetime.

Yoon visits Chae-Ok. Chae-Ok tells Yoon that Lady Nan-Hee is a fine woman. Yoon asks Chae-Ok why she does not hold on to him. He is not her parent or brother, he is just a man who has feelings for Chae-Ok. Tells her it is not possible, but Yoon tells her it could be if she wants to. Chae-Ok tells Yoon that she wishes to capture Jang Sung-Baek with her own hands. Yoon says cynically if Chae-Ok wishes to save him or kill him after being captured. Chae-Ok is shocked. Yoon tells her he cannot be Sung-Baek, and tells her to do what she must do, and then leave. Yoon further tells her not to live for him any longer, as he plans to marry Lady Nan-Hee. Chae-Ok sobs in the room alone. Yoon silently tells Chae-Ok to forget it all, him and Sung-Baek. Chae-Ok leaves. She looks at Yoon one last time and leaves.

Commander Jo informs Byung-taek that Chae-Ok is reassigned to his department. Byung-taek is happy. Yoon reminds Byung-taek that Chae-Ok is strong-willed and tells him to keep an eye on her. Byung-taek tells him that he knows Chae-Ok and Yoon should not worry about her from now on. Commander Jo asks Byung-taek about what he knows about the spy they caught earlier. Byung-taek is reluctant to tell (as it was forbidden to look at the records), but confesses he has seen it when Yoon mentions Chae-Ok's life is at stake. Yoon and Commander Jo traces the spy's history in the police/military to find clues. Byung-taek sees Chae-Ok arriving, and shows her to her new room. Chae-Ok tells him to treat her like a servant, because it makes her more comfortable. Byung-taek agrees, as long as she doesn't plan on leaving. Byung-taek is very excited, and pinches Chae-Ok on the cheek. On Chae-Ok's room, one of her superiors interrupt her by asking for a back massage. Chae-Ok is reluctant but does so. When the man touches Chae-Ok's hand, Chae-Ok fights him off and leaves.

Chae-Ok goes in front of Lady Nan-Hee's room. Lady Nan-Hee invites her in, but Chae-Ok says no, as she was about to leave. Lady Nan-hee asks her if this is because of her and Yoon. Chae-Ok tells her it is not so. Lady Nan-Hee then tells her if she wants to live with them (implying that she is willing to share Yoon). Chae-Ok tells her she never loved Yoon, and she wishes them happiness. Lady Nan-Hee steps outside to find Chae-Ok already gone.

Chae-Ok goes to see Ma Chook Ji and Ta bak-nyu. They are very happy to see her, and are seemingly living a good life. Chae-Ok tells them she has a request. Byung-taek demands to know Chae-Ok's whereabouts. Yoon overhears, and tells them Chae-Ok would not have left without a reason. Chae-Ok begs Ma Chook Ji to help her carry out a plan. Ma Chook Ji is reluctant. Ta Bak Nyu encourages her husband to go.

Chae-Ok and Ma Chook Ji arrives at a general's house. They have a letter from Commander Jo to permit them to borrow soldiers. The general agrees. At the police station, Commander Jo shows Yoon the fake letter requesting soldiers. Commander Jo states that Chae-Ok must be the one behind this, leaving Yoon speechless.
